![]() North Carolina Registry of LandmenThe N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources is required to establish and maintain a registry of “landmen” operating in North Carolina. The term “landman” is defined in S.L. 2012-143 to be “a person that, in the course and scope of the person’s business, does any of the following:
A landman, as defined above, may not act, offer to act or hold themselves out as a landman in North Carolina unless he or she is registered with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The Department may deny registration to an applicant, reprimand a registrant, suspend or revoke a registration, or impose a civil penalty on a registrant if the Department finds that the applicant or registrant has does any of the following:
Applicants may challenge a denial, suspension or revocation of a registration. To apply for registration as a landman, the Landman Application must be completed.
