Since 2003, the North Carolina Coastal Training Program has provided coastal leaders and professionals with science-based training opportunities to promote informed decisions regarding our coastal resources. Local officials, realtors, state agency staff, resource managers, non-profit organizations, and consultants benefit from access to relevant scientific research and training presented by local experts that improve their understanding of the coastal environment and the impact of local decisions on coastal resources.
The N.C. Coastal Training Program focuses on learning opportunities related to sustainable development techniques and water quality protection. Workshops and training program topics are determined by audience need assessments, emerging coastal research, and changes to coastal management policy. Workshops are held throughout the year at various locations along North Carolina’s coast. To learn more about the N.C. Coastal Training Program, contact Whitney Jenkins at 252-838-0882.
